Our Working Groups and Work Programmes

By bringing together the best specialists in each area, our working groups and work programmes assess key issues, share best practice, and develop action-orientated plans to drive market confidence. Each of our groups provide a focus on areas of critical importance to our members and have developed into an invaluable resource when considering specific challenges and identifying opportunities.

Anti-Fraud

As innovation in payments continues to evolve, so does the opportunity for criminals to adapt their methods and leverage evolving technologies to their advantage. Our Anti-Fraud Working Group facilitates discussion that raises awareness of new and emerging payment-related fraud risk. It aims to evolve PIF members' understanding of current fraud tactics and scams, and works to develop a consistent and holistic view of payment-related fraud risk.

Legal and Regulatory

Led by experts in law and regulatory compliance, our Legal and Regulatory Working Group assesses the impact of new and changing rules and regulations, and advocates for proportionate regulation that fosters innovation in payments. Recognised as a go-to hub for our members' compliance teams, this group holds regular briefings and produces guidance that helps members meet the growing expectations of regulators.

Payments Innovation for Good

Formed in early 2023 in response to the Cost-of-Living crisis, this programme of work is focused on supporting and championing innovative payment solutions that are geared towards financial and social inclusion, financial education, and wider ESG imperatives.  It aims to develop educational resources and insight, including for government departments and local authorities.

Sustainable Growth

A multi-faceted work programme aligned with our mission to promote safe, sustainable innovation in payments. It provides accessible learning and know-how in relation to launching, running, and scaling a sustainable payments business. Through a variety of resources, it aims to empower members to make informed decisions, from building business resilience to the fundamentals of taking a new payment product to market.

International

Our International Discovery Working Group facilitates the exchange of knowledge, experience and lessons learned from scaling a business cross-border. It brings together businesses and our association counterparts in key markets to deepen our understanding of doing business in other markets, from the rules and regulations across different jurisdictions to the opportunities that different markets provide.
