Amber Sutherland, Director of UK&I, Visa Government Solutions

Governments and humanitarian aid organisations across Europe are increasingly under pressure to justify how they’re spending taxpayers’ money. There is a greater need for transparency and understanding in how this money is being spent, what the outcomes are for their citizens and how policy can be impacted to drive improvements. This is especially applicable to vulnerable citizens and migrants. From the Netherlands, Spain & Greece to the UK, we’re seeing a shift towards supporting citizens via prepaid cards.

Visa's Amber Sutherland, Director of UK&I, Visa Government Solutions, will outline how governments and humanitarian aid organisations are changing how they financially support vulnerable citizens and residents. She will outline the following:

  •  Key drivers within the UK public sector and humanitarian aid space
  • Live case studies and trends
  • The size of the opportunity in the UK
  • How you can make a difference in society while driving revenue

Robert Albrecht, Director Strategic Partnerships and Business Development at Paysafe

In an increasingly digital world of payments, cash remains an important payment
method, and a critical means of payment for many people. Despite the clear
trajectory towards cashless payments, regulators are taking steps to ensure
people can continue to access cash if they need it. Sweden’s Riksbank has
called for an urgent reinforcement of cash as a means of payment in Swedish
legislation, whilst the UK’s FCA has set out new rules to maintain access to
cash. But how can everyone participate in an online world, no matter the
payment method they choose – even cash?

Join us at the Payments Innovation Day 2024 to hear fresh perspectives from Paysafe’s Robert Albrecht on the coexistence of cash and digital payments, and innovative solutions that combine the best of both worlds – on- and offline.

Ben Jordan, Chief Executive Officer of Safecypher

Despite the payments industry's best precautions, global card-related fraud costs the industry and indirect cardholders $20bn pa (Nilson Report – Issue 1232, Dec 2022). Industry and regulators have introduced better ways to authenticate cardholders' identity, but significant fraud remains as criminals have been adept at gathering so much knowledge about the cardholder's identity it is more difficult to recognise a genuine payment from one made by the criminal.

Safecypher is on a mission to create virtually fraud-free and frictionless remote payments, developing innovations to help credit and debit card issuers to strengthen security, improve customer experience, reduce the cost of fraud and increase revenue. We are thrilled to welcome Safecypher CEO Ben Jordan to the Payments Innovation Day 2024 where we will hear how issuers can finally reduce online fraud costs to virtually nothing on existing cards.
