The Public Sector Payments Workstream brings members together to help drive improvements in how public sector payments are designed and delivered, talking into account the different needs and circumstances of those who rely on them.
The workstream aims to:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the systemic challenges that exist across the public sector payments ecosystem and identify opportunities for improvement
- Grow public sector awareness of payments sector developments and trends
- Deepen payments industry understanding of consumer needs in the context of payment design and delivery
- Provide evidence-based insight to inform government strategy and policy
- Champion secure, low-friction payment methods, drawing on domestic and international case studies that could help improve UK public sector payment outcomes
