Following a nine-month pilot, the prepaid Mastercard® account powered by allpay begins an invite-only rollout, opening access to those excluded from the UK economy ahead of a wider public launch.

HEREFORD, 23rd March 2026 - In the UK, almost a million adults remain unbanked, shut out by a system that doesn’t work for them. For many, the barriers are too high, including a lack of traditional ID, poor credit history, or simply mistrust of conventional banks.

Introducing DOSH, the prepaid Mastercard® card and app from allpay, the UK’s leading public sector payment specialist. DOSH offers a straightforward financial tool designed for those who’ve been left behind. No confusing jargon, just a simple, transparent way to handle bills, budgets, and everyday spending.

Following a successful nine-month pilot phase, DOSH has officially launched for end users today, entering a controlled, invite-only rollout. This initial phase is designed to ensure stability, care, and high-quality support as the service scales. DOSH will be made available to the wider public in future phases, without the need for an invitation code.

Measured Growth

The transition to live status follows nearly a year of rigorous testing. During the pilot, DOSH demonstrated that by dismantling barriers such as a lack of traditional ID or poor credit history, it could provide financial agency to those previously left behind.

To maintain a high level of support for every new user, access is currently provided via invitation code. Housing associations, charities, and public sector organisations that already support people who may benefit from DOSH can signpost individuals directly. Anyone else can join the waiting list at mydosh.com, securing early access as DOSH moves into its next, open phase.

For more than 30 years, allpay has worked closely with social housing providers and local authorities, so we see first‑hand how many households are still locked out of everyday financial services.”

“Our pilot showed there is real demand for a fairer, simpler way to manage money. Many social rented households face ongoing financial pressure and limited options. DOSH builds on decades of public sector trust to give people more control and confidence. Starting with an invite‑only phase allows us to grow responsibly, while keeping human support at the heart of the experience,” Said Michelle Pacey, Managing Director of DOSH.

The DOSH Difference

DOSH is designed to challenge the "debt spiral" that often affects those without access to traditional tools. Key features include:

  • Inclusive Onboarding: Flexible ID requirements and a “vouched for" system for those without traditional forms of ID.
  • No Credit Checks: Fast account setup that does not affect a user's credit score, opening doors for those the system has left behind.
  • Mastercard® Accessibility: Users can use their contactless Mastercard® in shops or online.
  • Physical Connectivity: Users can add and withdraw cash at up to 11,500 Post Office® branches across the UK.
  • Real Human Support: Access to friendly help from real people, ensuring money management is never a solitary struggle.
  • Financial Literacy Tools: The platform includes built-in education resources designed to improve user confidence and financial literacy through jargon-free guidance.
